FREE INFORMATIONAL WEBINAR to present the first-level Master programme on “Information and Communication Technologies for Development and Social Good”. The Master is designed and implemented by University of Turin, in partnership with ONG 2.0 and CISV, with the technical and scientific support of Consoft Sistemi. It is made possible thanks to the generous support by the Italian Agency for International Cooperation and Development, and Compagnia di San Paolo within the program “Digital Transformation per lo Sviluppo Sostenibile” (AID011487)
The first-level Master “Information and Communication Technologies for Development and Social Good” – which will include online sessions and in-presence crash courses held at Campus Luigi Einaudi in Turin (photos below) – provides a groundbreaking transdisciplinary curriculum that brings together the immense experience of internationally renowned experts and academics from various Universities and International Organizations who will lecture in a number of modules and topics. The main aim of the Master is to build competencies and understanding of students capable to work in the development sector by harnessing transdisciplinary approach to it.
The Master will tackle a number of topics: from project management and social innovation to technology for development; from ICTs for data collection and visualization to ICTs for health and civic engagement; etc. The Master will also explore the existing and upcoming new trends in the field of development and technologies such as the use of blockchains in the development sector, and the importance of information security and future implications of algorithmic intelligence in the development sector. Last but not least, the Master will offer a number of other opportunities for professional development such as crash courses that aim to develop practical competencies of students; internships that aim to immerse students into various real-life experiences; etc.
In short, this Master provides both theoretical knowledge and critique, as well as practical proficiency concerning the deployment of ICTs tools for international development and social good.
